Peter B. H’Doubler, Jr. MD graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1977 and earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1981.  He trained in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, completing his residency in 1987.

Finishing his clinical fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Emory University Hospital in 1988 he then served on the junior faculty at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital from 1988 to 1990. He became assistant professor of surgery at the University of Virginia before moving to Atlanta.  He has been in private practice in Atlanta since 1991.

Dr. H’Doubler has been honored by being named “One of Americas Top Physicians” by U.S. News and World Report in 2011, voted “one of Atlanta’s Best Physicians” by Atlanta Magazine numerous times, including 2010 and 2011, in addition to being named “One of America’s Top-Rated Physicians” by The Center for Study of Services and is listed in The Guide to Top Doctors.

Dr. H’Doubler is board certified in vascular and general surgery by The American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of The American College of Surgeons.  He is on the medical staff of Saint Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta and Northside Hospital.  He serves as Head of Vascular and Endovascular Services at the Saint Joseph’s Heart and Vascular Institute.  Dr. H’Doubler is an active member of Saint Joseph’s Mercy Foundation Board for the last 15 years.

Dr. H’Doubler has published 12 articles in multiple medical journals and has given numerous talks on a wide variety of vascular disease topics.  He serves as preceptor, training physicians in the use of new technology for the treatment of Aneurysms and Limb Salvage.  With vast experience in minimally invasive treatment and management of vein disorders and innovative ideas, Dr. H’Doubler was successful in developing a novel way to use the intra-aortic balloon pump to help keep patients waiting for a heart transplant alive as a bridge to transplant. This technique was used successfully on over 50 patients at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta.
