After completing his training at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Brooks Whitney joined Georgia Vascular Clinic to study under his father, Dr. Douglass G. Whitney—a pioneer in Atlanta vascular surgery. In 1997, he was the first physician to perform carotid stenting at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, and later performed the first stent graft alongside Dr. Douglass Whitney and Dr. Joseph Zarge.
Dr. Whitney has more than 17 years of experience in vascular surgery, and is involved with diagnostic catheter and intravenous modalities of angioplasty, stenting, and stent grafts. He is a member of the Michael E. DeBakey International Surgical Society, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Medical Association of Atlanta, the Atlanta Vascular Society, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the International Society of Endovascular Specialists, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
